The Casio EX-Z1050 is powered by the Exilim Engine 2.0, featuring a powerful 10.1 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom and a larger and brighter 2.6” LCD screen, all housed in a compact and stylish stainless steel design.  The camera weighs a light 165g (5.8oz) with the long lasting included lithium-ion battery.  From first glance, this camera strikes the eye with great looks and sturdy construction and gives photographers a great travel camera.

This camera was designed with the traveler in mind. Whether you are traveling the world, or simply taking pictures of your pets, this camera provides great capability with ease of use. The camera starts up in an instant, assuring you that no picture is ever missed. The display offers an operation panel on the right side of the screen and although helpful at times, it is not always welcomed.  Although the automatic focus lags slightly, it is effective in gaining properly focused images.   Casio has also included a variety of flash options; reducing red eye, creating soft lighting, or capturing rapid action. As with similar model cameras, this camera provides traditional zoom capability and does not benefit from the use of digital zoom.  Also included is the best-shot feature that adjusts all camera settings to achieve a well-balanced photograph in a variety of scenes including, portraits, flowers, and night scenes.

The EX-Z1050 presents many features for a small camera including a large array of shooting modes.  This can tend to be too in depth or advanced for the amateur aimed at snap shots.  This camera is designed for a person who wants a compact, on the go, high-resolution camera.  A great feature, and easily activated is the Anti Shake DSP, incorporated in the sleek design.  Anti Shake DSP reduces the risk of taking blurred photos when the camera is hand held.  The quick shutter feature also works to produce a stabilized image; especially when subjects are in motion.

Form Factor

Its small, compact, and stylish design fits neatly in your pocket along with the ability to take high quality pictures. The camera uses an SD media card to record data and shoot pictures in a compressed JPEG format. It offers a traditional ISO range from 80 to 800 as well as a 3x zoom that equates to a 38mm to 114mm zoom.  The EX-X1050 is great for the person on the go and is built for transportability and withstanding everyday life. It's compact size and large screen along with eight color choices make this camera a real attention getter.
